What Exactly I Do

Doing everything makes you a jack of all trades, master of none.

I develop websites, and my specialty is optimizing the sites I create with Atlanta SEO. This means that the sites we create show up higher in search engines, resulting in more hits and views than normal. My background in programming allows me to do this, and I’ve honed the skills I’ve acquired over the years into this particular discipline. I also have a network of trustworthy professionals that I regularly refer clients to for projects that require skills in other areas, such as social media or app development.
If you’re about to launch a new website or project, let’s explore how I can assist! You can reach me at the following:

My early years and how I got started.

Atlanta SEO
I grew up about two hours outside of Las Vegas, in a small town in Arizona called Golden Valley. We moved there when I was young from Washington, as the humidity was affecting my health. Though we didn’t know exactly why I kept getting sick, it got bad enough that we had to move to a drier state. It turns out that Arizona was a good choice. Can’t get much drier than that!

Golden Valley really was a small town’ the closest public school was a 30 minute drive away. That actually worked in my favor though, as being home schooled allowed me to concentrate in areas more specifically than I would if I attended a public school. In this setting, I was drawn to programming. It turns out I had a natural talent for it, and I created my first program when I was just 12 years old.

Where my love of being a nerd came from.

After creating that first program, I became obsessed with trying to get better at programming. First ,I started with video games, where I would look at the code of the games I played to try to find secrets and the like. After games, I then toyed around with MySpace and other similar sites for a bit, where I would build awesome customized pages for my friends using the skills I had developed. My first big career move came at 20 years old, when I created a set of websites for myself to make some extra cash by selling ad space on them.
It was around this time when people started to take notice, and I began to get a lot of requests from others to build websites for them as well. I got so many, in fact, that I launched Joseph Stevenson (an Atlanta SEO Firm) in 2007 when I acquired my first Atlanta SEO client. To this day, I still operate in the same area, and compete with other Atlanta SEO companies.

I believe business should be earned, not expected.

After 12 years in the SEO business, I’ve started to notice a few common practices in the industry that I’m not too keen about. First of all, a lot of SEO work today is contracted out to other smaller companies that have no relationship with the client. This means that when you go to a SEO company and sign a long-term contract, then you don’t even know who’s doing the work on your project. Business owners who hire these big SEO firms usually have no idea that this is going on, and that they’re dealing with a middle-man who is charging them more than if they went to the third party company directly.

I’ve never operated like that, as I’ve been approached by these big firms several times to complete programming projects for them. I don’t think what they’re doing is right, and I decided to not take on projects like that because there is no way that I’m going to use my talents to make these people look good when they’re operating in a dishonest fashion. I stand by these principles with all of my business relationships, and people come to me when they’re looking for a highly-skilled Atlanta SEO professional that makes sure their best interests are taken into account over pure profitability.

If you don’t do things right, don’t do them at all.

Another practice that many companies in the Atlanta SEO business engage in is short cutting the process of proper website ranking to move through business “deals” faster. They do this by creating a few blog posts, then flooding the Internet with links to your website. This is not the proper way to increase your ranking, as your company reputation and long term standing with these search engines is at risk compared with this short-sided approach versus the tried and true methods I use. Here is the process I follow:

1. Rewrite the copy and program the back end of your site to optimize it for search engines. We’ll turn your existing site into a professional one deserving of a high-ranking.

2. Create content, such as blogs, social media posts, and press releases that will get people visiting your site and mentioning your content. This is the process that drives your ranking higher, as the increased traffic and buzz directly relates to your site’s rank.

3. Continue steps 1-2 as necessary. With regular content releases and site updates, you solidify your search engine ranking over the long term.

Any Atlanta SEO company that tries to convince you of a different approach is likely using a shortcut method, which will do more damage than good. Myself, and other top-tier options in the SEO business, all use the approach I outlined above to great effect.

Atlanta SEO

The key to strong Atlanta SEO boils to two key areas: Strong coding skills and a lot of hard work. Luckily, I’m a hard worker who has trained in programming nearly my entire life, so you’re in good hands. If you’ve found this site today by searching, then it’s because of the work I do.

If you’re looking for a Atlanta SEO company that operates with quality, honesty, and is backed up by experience and success, look no further than Joseph Stevenson SEO Consulting.
