Doing everything makes you a jack of all trades, master of none.
I'm a SEO specialist and web developer that works with businesses in New York. I create websites from the ground up, then make sure they show up in Google. Yahoo, and other search engines. People come to me for custom sites that are optimized using SEO. That's my specialty.
My career began as a programmer, and then grew from there into the web. Now, I work full-time doing SEO and all that involves. If you are in need of Social Media work, Email Marketing, or App Development, I'd be happy to make an introduction to one of several business associates who focus on those areas. My early years and how I got started.
I grew up in Golden Valley which is situated about two hours outside of the Las Vegas metropolis. My parents moved us to Arizona when I was young because I had an unexplained illness that the doctors just couldn't in Washington State. They thought it somehow caused by humidity, so we moved to one of the hottest, driest locations in the states.
I joined the homeschool revolution due to the fact that Golden Valley didn't have a middle or high school. It was much so much better than spending hours on a school bus to Kingman each and every day. My parents were great instructors. Part of my studies included working on our old computer, what's now called a “dinosaur.” Before my 12th birthday, I'd become familiar with GW Basic and other programming languages, and had written my first computer program, what's known as a basic calculator. That was my first programming feat.
Where my love of being a nerd came from.
As I began to sharpen my programming abilities, I began more advanced programs, including games. I enjoyed delving into what made the computer “tick,” and creating adventure games and the like. Not soon after, my work on the web began in earnest, tweaking MySpace pages for some of my friends. Later, as an digital entrepreneur myself, I ran multiple affiliate websites.
During that time in my life, my friends were constantly asking me to build and market their websites for them.
The first website client I worked with was back in 2007. This was the first website I built for a company other than my own. Raptor Digital Marketing (a New York SEO Firm) was started shortly after.
No real surprise because of our homeschooling days, it turns out that tech work runs in the family, as my brothers work at BP and Adobe. Their influence and experience helped me expand my horizons, tap into my creative side, and begin not just designing great sites for people but also learning how to promote websites effectively.
