What Exactly I Do

Doing everything makes you a jack of all trades, master of none.

My talents lie in the areas of web development and SEO. I create sites for San Antonio companies, then optimize the back end so that they show up higher on the search engines. That last part is especially important, as creating a site that doesn’t generate visitors isn’t useful for attracting new clients. I used to offer programming in other areas well, but honestly it takes up too much time. My specialty is SEO.

I’ve found connecting people I work with to other specialists that I trust for needs like Programming, Social Media, Apps, and Email Campaigns is the best option all around. In our crazy data-driven world, staying focus is imperative to business success. Focusing my time and effort into one specific service – SEO – allows me to be more effective on your behalf.

My early years and how I got started.

San Antonio SEO
I was raised in Arizona in a small town called Golden Valley, which is approximately two hours from Las Vegas. We moved there because I was sick… before I can really remember much. The doctors didn’t know what it was. But, my parents observed that my illness flared up in humid conditions, so we moved to the desert where it wouldn’t be an issue.

I was home schooled as a child, as the closest public school was in Kingman, and I would spend about an hour on the bus every day if we had gone that route. As part of my studies, my parents introduced me to programming at a very young age. I worked on an old computer, learning GW Basic and other computer languages. I was so proud of the first program a wrote when I was just twelve: a simple calculator. It was my first step toward my SEO profession today.

Where my love of being a nerd came from.

As I built upon the programming skills I learned during my youth, I became infatuated with video games. I started building my own, my first being one that gave people actions to take as they made their way through the sory plot. I also enjoyed looking in the directories of other games I was playing, seeing if I could find any extra levels or secret codes inside. As I grew older still, I started programming MySpace pages for friends and began branching into websites. After a short break from programming, I built multiple affiliate marketing sites for my own benefit.
I kept getting requests from others to build sites for them as well, and took on my first client back in 2007. At this time, I launched Joseph Stevenson (a San Antonio SEO Firm). I went by a different name at the time, but decided on what you see now. I decided to go full steam ahead, and began designing sites for clients on a regular basis, and as the Internet developed and search engines became important, I was one of the first people to really master the SEO process. The point is: Every day, I’m learning more ways to keep my clients satisfied and coming back for more.

I’ve always held a firm belief to let my work speak for itself, and showing what you can do instead of making empty promises will garner much more business in the long run. With San Antonio SEO, you really have to protect yourself when looking to hire for this type of work. It’s typical in this industry for companies to sign long-term contracts, then outsource the work to other companies. At that point, they’re just a middle man instead of an actual agency. You end up paying more, and your work is completed by an entire different entity than the one you hired. Weird… and expensive.

I don’t operate like that. My simple advice: When looking at any San Antonio SEO company, see what projects they’ve completed. Get a list of their clients’ websites and see how they rank on Google. With my firm, what you see is what you get. I think that this type of transparency helps people avoid many pitfalls in the SEO business, and allows me to work with clients who know what they’re getting when they hire me.

If you don’t do things right, don’t do them at all.

It’s becoming more and more common for SEO companies to focus on completing projects quickly instead of delivering high-quality work. This is selfish thinking, as they are focused more on acquiring clients through quick fixes and bulk content instead of creating professional sites with a high, sustainable ranking. Our SEO company uses the latter method, delivering top-tier work created by professionals. Our ranking boosting process is as follows:

1. Review the current site: We need to make sure the site deserves a high rank before we start worrying about bumping it up. This phase involves looking at your current site, rewriting sections where necessary, to get it ready for the ranking boost.

2. Content creation: This is where we begin developing content for your site that will be used for regular updates. This may include blog posts, press releases, social media outreach, and other methods designed to increase your site ranking.

3. Do it again and again: Regular, quality content is what works. As your content is to a point where it is regularly viewed and mentioned, that is when the ranking will increase. Other San Antonio SEO companies that try to shorten the process are attempting to use loopholes to generate a temporary rise on the search engines. Any quality SEO company will avoid these methods, and instead utilize the same or similar strategy that we do. We do the basics well. Consistency is key.
