I develop websites and am an expert in Memphis SEO. I create customized sites, then optimize them so that they show up higher when people use search engines. Businesses come to me because my programming skills allow the sites I create to actually get in front of potential buyers.

What you should know about me is that I am extremely focused. Though I have an extensive background in programming, I tend to just focus on websites and SEO. My early years and how I got started.

I grew up a few hours outside of Las Vegas – in Golden Valley, Arizona. When I was young, I fell ill often and the doctors in Washington State couldn’t help me. My parents found out that my illness was linked to the humidity in the area, so we moved to the desert to boost my health.

As a youth, I was home schooled since the closest public school was about 30 minutes away in Kingman. Thankfully, my parents didn’t want me on a bus for hours each day. As part of my studies, I worked with our old computer, which had many basic programming languages on it, like GW Basic. When I was 12, I had my first major “breakthrough” in the tech field; I programmed a basic calculator alone!


Where my love of being a nerd came from.

As I continued to program more and more, I became obsessed with working on video games. I would create story games using the skills I had developed, and start digging through the code and directories of other games to look for hidden cheats. As I grew older still, I started tinkering on the Internet by creating customized MySpace pages for my friends. Anything in that realm was fair game. Then, after taking a short break from programming, I came back in my twenties to run a suite of sites that generated income through ads and affiliate marketing offers.
As I began to build sites for myself, I started getting requests from others to do the same. One thing led to another, and in 2007, I took on my first client and launched Joseph Stevenson (a Memphis SEO Firm). Both of my brothers are also in the tech industry; they work at BP and Adobe. As for me now, I enjoy the everyday challenge of helping Memphis companies by applying solid programming basics and delivering top-tier SEO work for my clients.


I believe business should be earned, not expected.

Compared to other Memphis SEO companies, I make sure I work hard to earn and keep your business. Other Memphis SEO companies often trap clients through long term contracts and monthly packages. At that point, they usually send your project to a third party contractor that actually completes the project. I know this because I’ve personally had agencies contact me to do their programming for them.

Many Memphis SEO companies claim that they’re the best at what they do, and I guess what I’m saying isn’t too far off from that either. But I would encourage you to take a look for yourself, and focus on researching past websites they’ve built and examining the SEO work yourself. If both of those hold up to your litmus test, then you can be a little less cautious in moving forward. Though I’m not alone as a stand-out SEO company, I do operate with honesty, skill, and look to earn and value your trust with every SEO project we take on for you.

If you don’t do things right, don’t do them at all.

So.. I’ll tell you a secret. Most SEO companies focus on client turnover as opposed to delivering quality work. They usually do this by creating some blog posts and build a lot of useless links, and tell their clients that the rest will take care of itself. I’ve found the best approach isn’t to deluge the Internet with bulk messaging, but to create top-tier content that drives your site higher on Google and other search engines. Here is my process:

1. Review your Current Site: Before we work on increasing the rank, we have to get your site ready. This means rewriting content when necessary, and making sure your site is optimized for the search engines to pick up easier.

2. New Content Creation: Once your site is ready, we start creating blogs, social media posts, and press releases to drive traffic to your site.

When your high-quality content is picked up, you’ll start to get “Internet Buzz,: meaning a lot of mentions and increased traffic. This translates into the “SEO snowball” that gets your rank rolling.

3. Do the Repetition Dance: As we post quality content for you again and again, search engines recognize your authenticity and rank your site higher in their search results. This is different from the bulk approach, which looks to exploit and shortcut search engines for a temporary boost for the site. That’s an unsustainable tactic, and is not not good value for your money. I guarantee any stellar Memphis SEO company will tell you the same thing I am, and will stick to a proven strategy, most likely very close to ours.
