Understanding Marketing

Marketing as we know it consists of putting our businesses out in front of potential customers. We promise them a product or service that meets their wants or needs and then hope they say “yes” at purchase time.

It’s a pretty simple but also complex thing. With how saturated every single market is at this point in time we can only wonder how to keep competing. In the marketing industry itself Raptor now has to compete with both competent and incompetent marketing agencies that seem to pop up overnight. Location doesn’t matter so much anymore making it even more complicated. Maybe you are dealing with the same challenges.

I would submit all of this is a good thing. When you started your business most likely it was stressful, money draining and discouraging when you would be told “no” a lot. As time went on though you got some success and it was exhilarating and worthwhile. Even more time went on and it probably became routine and the success although still exciting had lost some of its luster.

Challenges in business take us back to the beginning where we are nervous again, upset, frustrated but also excited and stoked when something new works. So instead of thinking about new business ideas (we all do this) try viewing the new way you have to acquire customers as a challenge and meet it head on. It will make this fun process of entrepreneurship tolerable and enjoyable once again.
