On March 27th, 2026 Google made a Core Update that was geared towards showing more relevant search results and is considered a core update vs. spam update that was previously announced. Updates may affect sites rankings in google.
Google releases core updates a few times a year and we normally see big swings in rankings during this time. Client’s who are affected most of the time will see rankings swing back to normal once things setting down. If you are dealing in spammy practices you may see a permanent drop in rankings from a core or spam update.

Google has not spoken on what exactly was updated this time around only citing that it will take about 2 weeks to roll out. Following trends we believe the following will be affected in google:

- The December 2025 core update was on Dec 11 and ended on Dec. 29.
- The June 2025 core update was on June 30 and ended on July 17.
- The March 2025 core update was on Mar. 13 and ended on Mar. 27.
- The December 2024 core update was on Dec. 12 and ended on Dec. 18.
- The November 2024 core update was on Nov. 11 and ended on Dec. 5.
- The August 2024 core update was on Aug. 15 and ended on Sept. 3.
- The March 2024 core update was on March 5 and ended on April 19.
